My Acting For Film Camp at NYFA

For years, I’ve always wanted to pursue this dream I’ve had since I was a child. This summer, however, I have the chance to work towards that dream. Every year, New York Film Academy hosts a 1-week acting for film camp for teenagers. I loved the idea of it, and wanted more than anything to attend. So, I contacted an admissions specialist and I paid for the application, and I applied, and got accepted! This takes place in July, for a week. The only downside, is the hefty price of this endeavor. The tuition for this is $1,140, for the full week (I have to pay $500 of that in the coming weeks to hold my spot in the program), plus the housing, which is $890 for the full week. Along with $200-$300 for food (that’s what my admissions specialist said, anyway), and obviously a pretty big cost for my plane ticket. I am looking at months of fundraising for this, and I won’t be able to get a job until a month before my full tuition is due, and that’s if I get one the day I turn 16. So, that makes the fundraising process so much harder. My parents aren’t in the condition financially to help fundraise at this point in time, and that’s why I’m asking for help. Any amount at all would help me go through this program, and I will be forever thankful for even the smallest donation. I hate asking for handouts in any way, so I put off making this until the thought of not being able to collect enough money soon enough began to eat away at me.
