Camera for a trip to Glacier Park

I'll be the first to admit: this isn't a make it or break it thing. I'll be going on this trip to Glacier National Park with my father and brother whatever happens. There's a lot of great things you can do with your funds; this may not be one of them. A few alternatives:

Anyways, yes the pictures shown here are not Glacier National Park! They're from a trip I took last year wherein I played the part of photographer with a borrowed camera. And it was great! Pictures here are included to showcase that I can take pictures (at least I think they're some of the good ones!) I'd like to do it again, and so I thought I could turn to the largesse of the Internet and give it a try. I'm hoping with funds raised to pick up a digital camera. As those of you who know a thing or three about digital cameras, I'm obviously not looking to pick up one of the very expensive ones, but what I can pick up will be based on the total raised before the trip.

I'm offering pictures in return, either digitial or physical. As an amateur looking to add a hobby, I can't promise greatness: I can promise earnestness.  

There's admittedly not a lot of time before the trip; which will include a roadtrip from Wisconsin to the Park. Thoughts are that we'll go down Highway 2 the whole way: 

Take US-2 W to Glacier Rte 1 Rd/Going-To-The-Sun Rd in Glacier County
18 h 36 min (1,134 mi)

Turn left onto Glacier Rte 1 Rd/Going-To-The-Sun Rd.

Those are the literal directions from my father's front door. Once at the park we should be there roughly a week, hiking and exploring. https://www.nps.gov/glac/index.htm is the webpage of the park, in case you want more info about it for yourself.
It should be an adventure!

Some pictures I take will be held just for family and friends (I'm not promising pictures of my family without their permission for example) but otherwise many of what I take will be shared via one form of digital media or another. Pictures I send to you in response to your pledge will be just for you. Consider yourself a patron of an amateur photographer!

There should be some reward levels: clever patrons/readers will note that the total of the rewards can add up to more then the stated goal: this will mean a better camera/equipment for it etc.
