~ A Tribute to Rob Torres - Funeeestuff! ~

All donated funds that exceed this book’s printing and designing costs, will be forwarded to the Rob Torres Memorial and Scholarship Fund at Estudio Búsqueda de Panotmima-Teatro, which provides scholarships for students wishing to study with Sigfrido Aguilar at the Estudio Búsqueda de Panotmima-Teatro.

As one of the funniest and most professional clowns in the world, Rob Torres has performed in over 80 countries throughout his life.  He brought laughter to thousands, and perhaps millions of people. He created a fan base that was truly worldwide.

Tragically in late June, Rob suddenly passed away of a heart attack while flying to his engagement in Boston, Massachusetts.

In the spirit of adventure, Rob and I were working on a book project together, beginning in 2012, tentatively titled “A Clown in Our Town”.  Rob and I created a visual document at the many locations where he was slated to perform. We captured his off stage sense of humor at the iconic geographical locations such as Paris, France, St. Louis, Missouri, and New York City. Our plans included work in six more cities during his upcoming tours.

While planning this tribute book: A Clown in Our Town, A Tribute to Rob Torres, I realized that many other wonderful photographers had captured Rob during events such as New York City’s Big Apple Circus, and Seattle’s Moisture Festival, so I reached out to a number of my colleagues: Maike Schulz, Michelle Bates and others. They will share their personal vision of Rob in photography during his performances, rehearsals, and candid moments.

To produce this book: A Clown in Our Town, A Tribute to Rob Torres, funds are needed for graphic design work and publishing. I encourage you to share Rob’s vision and help make this book a wonderful testimonial to his work. For those who met him, had the honor to work with him, or saw him perform, know how much he truly deserves this recognition.

Since beginning studies with Sigfrido in 1996, Rob Torres carried forward his experience and enthusiasm to the next generation of clowns and circus performers. Funds that exceed this book’s printing and designing costs, will be forwarded to provide student scholarships at Sigfrido Aguilar’s Estudio Búsqueda de Panotmima-Teatro, the Research Studio of Pantomime Theater, a non profit international school of Comic Physical Theatre serving a serving a broad community based in Valenciana, Guanajuato, in the mountains of Central Mexico.

So please, give what you can, tell who you can, and let's start this journey together.
