February 3, 2016, while most of us were cozy and safe in the warmth of our homes during a Minnesota Blizzard, the city of Madelia was struck by tradegy. Firefighters from Madelia and surrounding communities battled a major fire through the middle of the night into the day. A fire that destroyed a big part of Madelia's downtown, history, businesses, jobs and dreams.
Tressa Veona Salon, owned and operated by Summer DeLaCruz, was one of many businesses that suffered a complete loss. For those of you that have had the pleasure to visit or frequent this salon you know what an amazing place it was, and what fun-loving hard-working ladies spent their every day there. These ladies poured their heart and soul into serving our community and making many of us feel glamorous. Today, for them, life is far from glamorous.
We are asking for your prayers and patience as they grieve and sort through their next steps in this devastating loss. If you are wishing to donate, as many have inquired, all efforts of support are noticed and greatly appreciated. Funds will be used for immediate and long-term needs of Tressa Veona as they recover and work to re-open in the near future.
