Welcome to TrekWithTaylor! My name is Taylor and my goal is to visit every country in the world. In doing so, I hope to set the world records for the youngest and fastest person to visit every sovereign country. I believe that over the course of around 400 days I can visit all 197 countries. Have you ever had a feeling that there was something you were meant to do? Well, this is mine, and I invite you to learn more about it!
I am a 22-year-old from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I will graduate in May from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Economics and Public Policy. Having always pushed myself to earn the best grades, internships, etc., I thought that a career in investment banking was what I was supposed to do. However, after a life-changing four months studying abroad in London, where I was able to travel to 20 countries, I realized that I needed to do something that I love. I am passionate about travel and want to spread the message that anyone from any background can see the world. Particularly, to all the young women who've been told that they could not safely travel on their own, I want to challenge this stereotypical notion. Young women can--and should--see as much of the world as they can.
In order to make this trek a reality, I'm going to need some help. While I will be taking out loans and putting all of my personal savings into this trip, it will not be enough on its own. Also, while my family is behind me 100% in this journey, they do not have the means to financially support me. As a result, I need as much external financial support as I can get. My estimated maximum cost for the trip is $110,000, so any little bit helps. And of course, you can also show your support by simply spreading the word to help others learn about my journey.
