Treatment for Merlin

Donation protected
I met Merlin in 2008, when he was a scrappy young outdoor cat who had been rescued by my brother. From the second he saw me, Merlin decided unequivocally that I was His Human, and he followed me via the house windows, singing me the song of his people. I immediately went home and applied for a mortgage, so I could get out of my no-pets apartment and bring that beautiful cat boy home. He joined me in my new house in December of 2009, where he has been my best friend, my bath buddy, my sad movie pillow, my art critic, my chore supervisor, and my emotional support animal, helping me cope with the horrors of PTSD. He knows when I don't feel well, and refuses to leave my side when Dr. Cat is needed.

Throughout the last week, his appetite vanished. Normally, he is a bottomless pit for food, so a vet visit was arranged. I expected a sore tooth, possibly an intestinal blockage due to his hoovering. Instead, the diagnosis is much, much worse.

He has cancer.

It's in his liver. It's in his spleen. It's terminal. My beautiful, kind, smart, funny little cat tank is dying. At TEN years old.

They can't do anything without money, which I do not have. 2017 was a nightmare year for me, involving multiple ER visits, EKGs, medical imaging, and multiple, expensive prescriptions.

Then at the beginning of the month, a credit card in collections took my entire paycheck. I get paid monthly, which means I am completely tapped out this month.

The amount I'm requesting will cover what I still owe on the original tests, and upcoming costs for: additional tests, medications, palliative care, travel to specialists if needed, end of life care, euthanasia, and veterinary "mortuary" services.

He will not survive this, and I am devastated, but he is the most important thing right now.

Please help Merlin cross the Rainbow Bridge as comfortably as possible.

Help him meet the end his life pain-free and with dignity.

Show him the love he has so willingly shared with the world.

Not for my sake, but for him.

Please.
