My friends and I have been buying used trailers (and have received a few trailer donations) to provide homes for the Camp Fire victims of Paradise. Over 14,000 homes were destroyed.  Chico is a town in distress because of the severe housing crisis. A relief worker compared it to a triage unit. FEMA has promised 80 trailers, but they won't be there for another month (if then).   We already took one caravan of 5 trailers to the area. We are planning another trip for Saturday, December 8th, and will continue making trips as long as we have money to buy good quality, used trailers. Some dealerships are working with us in a wonderful way to bring down their prices. If you have been wanting to help in a tangible way, this is it. They don't need any more clothes, toiletries, or other stuff. They need a roof over their heads.  May God bless you abundantly as you consider how you can make a difference in a suffering family's life.  Please see the news stories below about our work.  Thank you so much.

Hello everyone! I wanted to post a final update and "thank you!" to everyone who so generously donated to our work in Paradise. Between myself and my friend in Oregon, God has used us to provide 22 beautiful trailers for victims of the Camp Fire! Isn't it amazing what God can do with $10,313? His word is true: "Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more [and more trailers!], running over, and poured into your lap." Luke 6:38

Hello everyone! What I'm about to share has only been made possible because of the generous donations of great people like you! Because of our work providing 14 trailers so far for families of all sorts that lost everything in the Camp Fire, my husband and I were granted access into the Chico fairgrounds where the poorest of the victims of the Camp Fire are living in tents, their vehicles, and some have older trailers.
Just a few hours after our visit, I got a call from a volunteer who works full time at the fairgrounds who heard about us bringing donated travel trailers to Chico. She told me about an elderly couple that has been living there in their F-150 pickup since the day of the fire. She said they just sit in the pickup all day long and anytime anyone tries to offer them help they say they are fine. But the workers there know they aren't. The Red Cross, the Dr's, the volunteers, and even the security guards are all concerned about the old woman's swelling and other health issues. The worker gave me their phone number and I was able to gingerly persuade the elderly husband to let me bring them a trailer. As we were hanging up the phone I heard his voice cracking. Because of your generous donations, my husband and I were able to get them a dandy of a trailer the very next day and deliver the day after that! Here is a link to a YouTube video of them getting their trailer. I apologize that you will have to copy the link and paste it to your browser:

Here we have 3 nice, clean trailers waiting in our church parking lot to be brought to their new families in Paradise! One family is an elderly pastor and his wife who will be living in their trailer on their burned-out church parking lot in Paradise. They want to bring hope to the people of Paradise by living there and proclaiming, "We are not giving up!" Another family consists of a single mom and her 2 kids (ages 13 and 9). They've been split up since the day of the fire because they couldn't find a suitable place for all 3 of them. Now they will be together again. The last family (so far) consists of a hard working young man, his wife, and their two daughter who desperately need a place. Thank you all so much for making this possible! I'll be visiting the Chico fairgrounds on Saturday to see the needs there and how our trailer ministry might be of help.
