Tracy's Power Assist Wheelchair
Hi our name is Jeff & Carmel,
Tracy is needing a power assist wheelchair. Price $20,000.
Our 33 year old daughter was diagnosed in 2015 with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, this stops her from standing no more than ten minutes at a time. Which means she will have a high pulse with a dramatic drop in blood pressure that can cause her to faint. She will need to sit or lye down to recover.
Tracy was also diagnosed with Mast Cell Disease. This causes her to go into anaphalaxis at any given time, needing frequent adrenaline injections as this disease is life threatening and life long and can happen on a daily basis. Tracy has spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals and Intensive Care Units needing adrenaline infusions.
She is now on a 10 hour IV infusion on a daily basis to help keep her out of hospital.
Tracy has gone from working, being fit and active and a mum to her 8yr Old Autistic daughter to now these diseases turning her life upside down. She is now unable to leave her home without assistance in a temporary wheelchair on loan, that does not suit her body causing her a lot of pain. She is unable to do day to day home duties, as well as doing the simple things like getting groceries by herself because of needing assistance outside of the house. Living her life now at doctors and hospital appiontments or in hospitals.
Tracy has tried to get help from government services (NDIS and SWEP) and is still waiting on decisions after 2 years. Because of this she is desperate for a power assist wheelchair that is suited to her body.
It was suggested to us to try a Go Fund me Page to help raise the money for the wheelchair to help make Tracy's day to day life easier and give her back some dignity and independence. We do appreciate your help from the bottom of our heart's as it is very hard to have to ask for this help. Thankyou all so much.
