Tracy Slaugenhaupt, a lineman for First Energy in Clarion, PA volunteered to go to Florida as part of the Hurrican Irma recovery process. After multiple weeks of restoring power to those who needed help, he was injured in an unfortunate accident where contact with a 7,200 volt electric line was made. It is a miracle that he is alive, however he has lost his right arm and is suffering from a variety of medical issues at the moment, including burns on roughly 40% of his body. Any support you can offer to get Tracy and his family through this trying time would be greatly appreciated! Thank you to all for the support, encouragement, love and prayers!

Hi! It's been awhile since I have updated this page and wanted to share some great changes!
On December 7, after 77 days in the intensive care unit at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida, Tracy was transferred to Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago. He has been receiving excellent care there that includes at least three hours of physical and occupational therapy 5 days a week. He is gaining strength in his legs and is now able to walk short distances. His hand still has a great grip and the therapists are working hard to stretch and strengthen his elbow and shoulder. There is still a lot of uncertainty what the actual functionality of his arm will be, but we are hopeful that with continued therapy and time, he will gain more use of his arm.The medical team at SRAL is working hard to design a prosthesis that will benefit Tracy. We are hopeful to be moving forward with a prosthesis in the near future. There is a lot of uncertainty, but we know that Tracy is a hard worker and has a strong will to succeed. We have hope for the best and are confident we have a great team in place who will help Tracy reach his goals. We are uncertain how long he will remain at SRAL, but we expect he will be inpatient for at least another month.
Tracy's loving wife, Darlene, has been posting fairly regular updates on the facebook page started for them, Praying for Tracy Slaugenhaupt @ https://www.facebook.com/PrayingForTracyS/?hc_ref=ARSKEHsAKZmnJX0g0iv0siNtxwRv51G1tqln3su0GLXioH0kx7rZ2V_rCguZ8lwfR08&fref=nf.

Thank you all for the love and support you have generously offered throughout this incredibly trying time!

Hi All! Thank you for your donations, support, love and encouragement! We have a few update's on Tracy's status: he had yet another surgery yesterday to clear out dead tissue in his left arm and and his chest and back. The surgery went well, and so tomorrow they are going to start to lighten the sedation so that Tracy will be able to finally wake up. He will be foggy for several days, but he will be awake and will be moving forward, hopefully in a positive direction. We don't expect the major surgery on his left arm to occur for at least another week, although there will be another debridement surgery tomorrow. The doctors are still not sure what the status of his left arm will be, although they are working very hard to come up with a solution so that he is able to keep it! Thank you once again for all the well wishes and support! This is a very dark time, but the love and kindness shown to us has provided a guiding light through it all!
