Bonjour, Je m’appelle Alexandre Bureau; j’ai 12 ans. J’habite un petit village en Beauce, nommé St-Éphrem. Je suis le seul enfant de mes merveilleux parents, Frédérick et Stéphanie.
En janvier dernier, j’ai attrapé une gastro. Peu de temps après, ce fut l’influenza, et encore une autre gastro. Mes parents trouvaient cela très étrange d’attraper 2 fois la gastro en si peu de temps. De plus, j’étais très affaibli et ne mangeais presque plus alors ils m’ont amené voir le médecin. Plusieurs examens ont été faits et très rapidement le diagnostic est tombé. Je suis atteint de la leucémie aiguë myéloblastique (LAM), une des formes les plus sévères.
Aussitôt, on m’a envoyé en traitement de chimio. Le traitement doit agir pendant 1 mois. Si tout va bien après mon premier traitement, je devrai en recevoir 3 autres.
Mes parents sont avec moi en permanence afin de m’accompagner dans cette épreuve difficile et je veux qu’ils puissent continuer à rester avec moi. J’ai besoin d’eux pour m’aider à rester fort et gagner cette bataille!

HI, My name is Alexandre Bureau; I’m 12 years old. I’m from a small town called St-Ephrem, in the province of Quebec. I am the only child of my wonderful parents, Frédérick and Stéphanie.
Last January, I caught a stomach flu (gastro enteritis). Shortly after that, I caught the flu (influenza) and another stomach flu. My parents thought that it was very strange to be so sick in such a short period of time. I was also very weak and barely ate anymore so they brought me to the doctor. Several tests have been performed and quickly, the diagnosis fell. I am suffering from acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), one of the most severe forms.
Immediately, I was sent to chemo treatment. If the results are good after my first treatment, I will receive 3 more; 1 per month.
My parents are always with me to support me and I want them to be able to continue to stay with me. I need them to help me stay strong and win this battle!
