Help for Tobe Family After Tragedy
It is with deep sadness that we write that our dearly beloved Delonte and Shalaya Tobe departed this life to rest in the arms of our eternal Father on the afternoon of Sunday September 6th. Loved by so many, Delonte and Shalaya were a son/daughter, a mother/father, a brother/sister, an aunt/uncle, a cousin, and a friend to many. Both Delonte and Shalaya were a lot alike and are known for being funny, sweet, caring, comforting, dependable, and loyal. While in their presence, one couldn’t help but sense their love for one another. They were joined at the hip like twins….where you saw one, you always saw the other. Though our hearts are hurting, we find solace in the fact that they both departed to eternity together.
Delonte and Shalaya’s absence from this side of glory is heartfelt and they will surely be missed by so many. They leave behind three beautiful children Delonte Tobe (10 years old) Jr., Aliyah Miller (9 years old), and Elijah Tobe (2 years old). They also leave behind their mother Denise Butler (Delonte’s Mother), Virginia Moore (Shalaya’s Mother), John Tobe (Delonte’s Father), siblings Shelly Moore, Shana Moore, Ronald Whaley, Tiera Butler, Crystal Brannon, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
As a family and community, we are hit so hard with this sudden tragedy. Family and friends are coming together to make sure that Delonte and Shalaya’s children receive every ounce of love and support that they need in their time of suffering. As we try to pick of the pieces of our shattered hearts, we are left to face the reality that their children still need to be provided for in every aspect of their lives. So we’ve established this account to ensure they’re given every opportunity that Delonte and Shalaya would’ve given them had they still been alive.
The family appreciates your words of encouragement, your donations, your visits, your texts, and calls during this difficult time. We ask that you continue to keep us lifted in prayer as only The Lord God Almighty is able to heal our broken hearts. The family is setting up a candle light vigil for Friday September 11th in honor of Delonte and Shalaya's memory. Location details will be provided.
On behalf of all the family I would like to thank everyone for all the support. It has been very touching to see your support during this tough time for us. If you would like to donate items such as clothes and other items please send a message via gofundme with your request.
Again, thank you for your support.

My heart breaks for the children...please know that although I didn't know the couple , I am a resident of PG County and a mom. It's obvious from the pictures that they shared the greatest gift...love

So sorry for your tragic lost. I live in the vicinity of the accident. I will definitely donate and lift up prayers for your family. I know the lost these young children will experience for the rest of their lives. I lost both of my parents at age 2. Praying they have a strong village like I did to surround them with love.
God willing these kids are blessed with finances as well as people in their life who make it easier for them to grow in the absence of their parents. God willing.

I send my heartfelt condolences. What a beautiful couple and a beautiful family. My heart aches for the children and the parents of Shalaya and Delonte. What a sad and avoidable tragedy. I hope the person responsible has been charged so justice can be served. While I am sure they did not intend this to happen their reckless driving cost these two people their lives and destroyed a family so they must be prosecuted and held responsible for this as it certainly could have been avoided.
It would be wonderful if a college scholarship fund could be set up so that when the children are ready for college, they know that funds are there for them. Wish we could do more to take away some of their pain. Any special needs that they have that family cannot cover. Their story really touched me. I lost my mother when I was 16 and my dad when I was 30. Losing one parent is terrible, losing both at such a young age is unimaginable. I am sure your family will will surround these children with live and support.
May you continue to find comfort and peace in God during this most difficult time. We will continually keep both families lifted up in prayer. Rev. David and family
It is with deepest condolences that I extend my heartfelt sorrow to the family. Sometimes we can't comprehend why things happen. But I pray that your family can understand that God in His infinite wisdom and creator of all, is still in control. So today I offer my prayer that God will lift this family into the deepest crevices of his bosom to console their grief. I pray that you find peace that passes all understanding as you remember the joy that Delonte and Shalaya brought to your family. I know you loved them but God loves them too. Peace be with you.
My prayers go out to the The families and friends of both of these precious angels gone to soon!! Prayers for the Children you all our in my thoughts and prayers!!!
