To find out why we had a Civil War

Inspired by President Donald Trump, this project will finally get to the bottom of a question that literally no one has ever pondered at any point in American history -- "why was there the Civil War?"
There is no reason for this. People don't realize, you know, the Civil War, if you think about it, why?

Alright, the good folks at GoFundMe asked me to answer some questions (Don't tell anyone, but I suspect they think this campaign may not be legit).
Also, they've advised me that I cannot use this campaign to raise money to buy beer. You got that, guys? No beer!
1. Who you are and where you’re from
I'm Ian. I write about history and the Constitution and how much the Supreme Court sucks. I even wrote a book about it.
You should buy it. It's good.
2. Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for
I'm raising it to fund my own super important project to find out why we fought the Civil War.
3. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible)
First, I'll do some research to see if there is any chance at all that Donald Trump is wrong. Hey, maybe someone, somewhere, actually has thought about why the Civil War happened.
Then I'm definitely not going to buy a beer. Or, if I do, I will buy it using my own money. But not any of your money. NO BEER!
Then I'll donate any money this campaign raises to the ACLU.
4. Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies
I'm going to withdraw the money. Put it in my bank account. NOT USE IT TO BUY ANY BEER. Then donate it to the ACLU.
No beer.
