Assalamu alaykum my dear brothers and sisters!
As you are aware, every year the Islamic society holds IFTAR and TARAWEEH for the Muslim students in Portsmouth and this year is no different in sha allah!
We are estimating this year to be the busiest year because Ramadan will be during exam time and we are hoping to provide meals and cater for upto 150 muslims on a daily basis!
Its a big number & we are struggling to cope with the increase in demand due to high costs and don't want to cancel this valuable service which benefits so many international and domestic muslims. But with the help and assistance of Allah first and foremost and your generous contributions we can in sha Allah get there!
I invite you all to become our companions in this endeavour and help us to provide iftar for students and their families in this blessed month and share in the reward of doing so!

Allah exalted is he says (Qur'an 2:274);
- "Those who spend their wealth [in Allah 's way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly - they will have their reward with their Lord.
And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve"
The Prophet peace be upon him said;
- “Whoever gives iftar to one who is fasting will have a reward like his, without that detracting from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest"
(Saheeh al-Jaami, 6415)
- "Allah said: ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you’ ” (Bukhari, 5073)
