nepal earthquake funds for girls

Donation protected
the nepal earthquake has hit and it is not over yet.
A few days after the devastating earthquake hit central nepal with a magnitude of 7.8, we received calls from our employees asking to pick up work again.
after they arrived at our small handicraft workshop,
we heard stories of violence against women and girls in the camps and in the villages of Nepal.
Left without a roof protecting from rains and storms, they are also left vulnerable to violence particularly to trafficking and sexual violence.
As a small handicraft company, we at Bhumi Handicraft (bhumihandicraft.com) hire only women, aiming to support their livelihood, we are now standing in front of the ruins of what many called "home".
We want to help the affected communities of our employees and support them in protecting their daughters while building up communities again.
The earthquake might be over but the harm that is done to women and girls here will just increase.
therefore we are collecting donations for distributing: - - - temporary shelter (tents and tarpolin),
- hygiene education with culturally sensitive distribution of sanitary pads and desinfectants,
- deploy local peer educators to educate on risks of violence and help communities respond adequately
- set up protection mechanisms with local women groups in Dhading, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk (some of the most affected districts)
and we will report to you in detail on our website how we help with first response, educate families and communities about the risks many women and girls face after a disaster and rebuild with them the safe places they lost within seconds.
