Hi!

We are the VikingBots of Thomas Jefferson High School - a Richmond Public School robotics team that competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition.  We are a student led organization made up of a diverse group of like minded students looking to become tomorrow's technologists, problem solvers, and innovators!

We Need Your Support!
We desperately need your support to fund our 2019 FIRST Robotics Competition season. With the many needs across the Richmond Public School district, school funding for the VikingBots is typically sparse and in many years unavailable. We depend solely on corporate sponsors, mentors, and community advocates such as yourself, to help us achieve our goals in STEM education.

Your donations will help fund our annual registration fee, buy materials, tools, and equipment for our lab room, and help feed us during our long nights of researching, coding, and building our robot.

Learn More About the FIRST Robotics Competition
The FIRST Robotics Competition program helps inspire students to become STEM leaders and innovators by applying STEM in a way that is fun and engaging. Students learn and apply STEM concepts in a team environment, and collaborate to build a robot that competes with and against other teams across the region and nation.

What an amazing three days at the District Championship Competition! We competed against so many amazing teams and made so many lifelong connections and friends along the way!

We finished 2nd place overall in the entire competition against 58 of the top teams across Virginia, Maryland, and DC. This success has qualified us for the World Championship Competition in Detroit to compete against the WORLD'S best teams!

Thank you so much for being an instrumental part of our success! We could not have done this without all of your support!

But we have one more ask - and that is to help us cap off this season with a trip to the World Championship in Detroit!

We've created a new GoFundMe campaign for that trip here: https://www.gofundme.com/tjhs-robotics-2019-world-championships

Thank you for your support!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks again for your support of the TJ Robotics team and enabling the success of these amazing students.

I wanted to provide you with a quick update on the team's accomplishments at this past weekend's Richmond District Competition.

- The team competed in 12 qualification matches and finished with a rank of 9 out of 37 teams, and a match record of 8-3-1. This is the highest rank ever for TJ Robotics!
- The team qualified for the playoffs as a 5th seed Alliance Captain which is a first time accomplishment for TJ Robotics!
- Unfortunately, the team lost in a tiebreaker match against the 4th seed Alliance.

They are currently ranked 29 out of 129 teams in the Chesapeake District (Maryland, DC, Virginia) and look to improve this rank at the next competition in Portsmouth, VA on March 16-17th. The top 53 teams in the district will qualify for the FIRST Chesapeake District Championship competition in April.

I am so proud of the team's accomplishments! The students are ecstatic, and are already looking at ways to iterate their robot design to improve their rank!

Thanks again for your support and enabling their success! We could not do this without you!
