UNexpected Blessing

$5,455 of $20,000 goal

Raised by 57 people in 40 months
My wife  and I went to Alabama to help my family out for a few days and we are now leaving with 4  out of the 5 children. They are a blessing but we were by no means expecting or prepared for this. We were unable to take the youngest who is 18 months due to the fact he is terminally ill and will be in childrens hospital for a few weeks due to not getting the proper care. He will then be moved to a foster home who is properly medically trained to care for him until the end. We were sadly told he is unable to make the move to due to being so medically fragile and the alltitude will hurt him. This as you can imagine was hard not just on us but the other 4 siblings. It has been a world wind for us all.  We are all flying back on Saturday the 16th , (thank you frontier, we found $50.00 per seat tickets). The children are unable to take any belongings from their house due to it having been a meth house. We are having to replace EVERYTHING. We have already begun the process of buying, shoes, underwear, toothbrushes, etc. but they have dental issue, medical issue,   all will need clothes, shoes, school suplies, the means to feed 4 extra kids, counseling, toys, books etc.  My wife will need to stop working to stay with the kids until  they feel safe, comfortable, and many of their issues get addressed. Not only did they come from a Meth house but experienced abuse, neglect and no food for long periods of time. They have many trust issues, fears, emotional issues, abondonment issues and one may have autism . We felt my wife coming home is best to address all their issues we have noticed and get the proper help we need along with giving all the love and attention they need.  We don't qualify for state assistance due to it being family taking the kids vs a foster care home. Due to it also being family from out of state they say we only qualify is medicade. We have to make many calls to find out it is true. We have a wide variety of ages in our addition. the ages are a  2yr old girl, 4yr old boy,  10 yr old boy, and  a 12 yr old girl. This is a bit new to us as we have only had boys before and are grown, but are very excited about how we can change these kids' lives .  We can't wait to start our new adventure and our new family.
We are overwhelmed by the out pouring of support by complete strangers willing to donate clothes, toys,  and items. WE have not been able to repond to the people we have donated to us. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP. IT MEANS THE WORLD TO THESE KIDS AND US.
At this time we are needing to go through the offers of support and see what we can utilize for the kids. We are going to ask that people donate if you can and Pray for us if you can't. We believe in the power of prayer and know this is a God thing so he will point the right people our direction.
Again THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Some of you have asked for our email so you could contact us personally. Please feel free to email me at tim.someassemblyrequired@gmail.com or Renee at snwbuny1971@gmail.com

The kids are now all in counseling and we hope for the healing to start. We were able to trade Renee's jeep in for a minivan. I am now trying to post updated pictures but it is not cooperating with me. Thank you everyone for your love and support.

We also are happy that little man was released from Children's Hospital and has been placed in a special needs home that will give him the love and care he needs for the rest of his time.

Definitely check into Medicaide for the children. Also, the county you live in might grant some financial help for kinship care. Not sure about crossing state lines though . There is what is called the Special Care Unit at the children's hospital .. They do a great job with children with special needs , emotional and physical.

I am heartbroken about this. I know their mother, and I NEVER would've expected to see this kind of situation from her. I don't know all the details, I don't know why she went down this path, but I thank God that you guys were able to provide a safe environment for these precious little humans. You're all in my prayers, including the Mom of these little ones, and your parents, as well. I'll share your GFM page, and see if I can get you guys some extra help, and I'll do what I can to help, too. God bless you, Tim and Renee.
