Hi my name is Tiffany Johnson and I am 27 yrs old. I have Cerebral Palsy and I live in Bridgeport, CT. I have been going to Camp Hemlocks for nineteen yrs, camp is a big part of my life. I feel free and accepted because everyone at camp is disabled like me. I don't have to worry about someone starring at me or being unable to understand me. Everything at camp is modified to meet my needs so I don't need as much help as I do in my home and the community. I still need to be fed and toileted, but there are ramps everywhere that I can move around on my own. I'm unable to move around freely at home because we do not have a ramp and we do not have a van that I can be transported in. I spend all winter in my house and have to watch my twin sister go out with her friends and family to the movies, mall, and community events, while I sit and watch in the back round and hear all about her great time. I look forward to the summer time to join my lifetime friends and enjoy myself. Camp is $1,000 a week due to the care that I need. Camp is a home for me.  I would love to be able to go for two weeks this summer.
