It is with a very heavy heart that I have created this GoFundMe campaign…
At 11pm on Easter Monday, 17th April 2017, my dear friend Kerri Walker (nee Johannesen) received the devastating news that her 30 year old daughter Sarah and 22 year old son Daniel had been killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the Bruce Highway near Tiaro. Sarah’s 14 year old son Sam, Kerri’s grandson, miraculously survived the crash but was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where he remains in a critical condition with his father and family by his side.
My heart goes out to Kerri, Ross, Paul, James, Sam, Dain, Victor and the extended Walker/Johannesen family.
Sarah's friend Peter Knowles was also in the car, he is in a stable condition after surgery for significant lower body injuries and burns. Sam underwent further surgery last night which went well but the family is asking everyone to keep Sam in their prayers, I will keep you updated with his progress. Our thoughts are with Sam, Peter and their families and friends.

Sarah, Daniel and Sam were returning to Brisbane after a family Easter celebration in Bundaberg, they all looked so happy, such a tragic end to their Easter celebrations! Sarah was such a beautiful lady and a wonderful mum to Sam, and Daniel was a handsome young man in the prime of his life… two precious young lives cut short.
As you can imagine, the family is absolutely devastated and are struggling to cope with the enormity of the situation. Once reality sets in, they will have to start planning to say their goodbyes to Sarah and Daniel.
I have set up this GoFundMe campaign to help my friend, and her family, financially during this very difficult time. Your kind donation, whatever the amount, would be gratefully accepted and will help the family to cover funeral expenses and Sam’s long road to recovery.

What is my relationship with the parties I am raising money for?
I am a long-time friend of the family raising money on their behalf.
How will the funds be spent?
All monies raised will be given directly to the family so that they can pay for funeral expenses, travel and Sam’s long-term physical and psychological recovery.
What is your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the beneficiaries?
The total monies raised will be presented to the family by direct debit into their bank account as the money is required.
