Help Princess Tiana beat her battle

Donation protected

I have been very blessed to have found a handful of beautiful friends and Lynette is one of them. I have known Lynette for.. I’d have to guess 7 years now and she has always been honest, supportive, generous and there when I have need her, always.

Last week we all got a huge shock when her beautiful daughter Tiana, who has just turned 2 was rushed to Brisbane, QLD from Darwin, NT following the finding of a tumour growing off her Kidney. Doctors have run tests and determined the tumour is a neuroblastoma.

Here’s a little bit of info on Neuroblastoma;

“Neuroblastoma is a cancer of immature cells in the nervous system, occurring most commonly in children. Although it can occur in many places throughout the body, it is most often found in the nerve tissue of the adrenal glands, near the kidneys. It may also develop in the chest, neck or pelvis.

The disease is often only detected after it has spread to other parts of the body to cause noticeable symptoms. It tends to spread most often to the lymph nodes, bones and bone marrow, liver and skin. Occasionally neuroblastoma is formed before birth and can be detected with a fetal ultrasound.

The survival rate of neuroblastoma in Australia ranges from 40% (for the highest risk neuroblastoma) up to 95% (for low-risk or intermediate-risk neuroblastoma).”

Luckily Lynette has family in Brisbane who have been able to be there while all of us in Darwin can just send love and strength, but it doesn’t feel like enough. Not only has Lynette, Tiana and her son Rien had to be uprooted at a moment’s notice but now they have no idea how long they will need to be away from home for, or how long or tough Tiana’s fight will be. Lynette has been told by the doctors she could be in Brisbane for Tiana’s treatment for 12 months or longer, majority of this time will be leave without pay.

Unfortunately I do not have a lot to give financially but the next best thing was to start a go fund me page for my beautiful friend. My hope is that the money raised will be enough to take some of the burden away and provide a few fun activities/ outings for Lynette, Tiana and Rien while they away from home. I think having the little familiar things will give a lot of comfort and support to Lynette, Rien and Tiana.

Not only as Lynette’s friend but as a mother; seeing her watch her baby girl go through this breaks my heart and I am asking anyone who has anything spare to give, no matter how big or small, if you could please donate to Tiana’s battle fund you will be giving hope and showing this little girl how much love there is in the world, and just how far a little love and hope can go.

Tiana starts her first round of chemo today (15/11/2016).

Thank you for taking the time to read about Tiana, and thank you for anything you were able to give, even if it was just a prayer for this little angel.
