Tiana takes Yale University

Donation protected
Hi all! As I've shared with a few people, I've been accepted into Yale's Forestry & Environmental Science graduate program beginning this fall. It's been pretty overwhelming but I couldn't be more thankful and excited for what is to come. I never would have imagined my path would head there next, but here we go.

I've also been immensely blessed in that I've received a partial scholarship to assist in the terrifying cost of attending Yale. The remaining will be covered with loans and TA or work-study positions.

However, there are a few unexpected expenses looming in the meantime. In order to hold my spot, a $500 tuition down payment is due April 15, 2019, in order to confirm my seat within the program. Failure to pay this means they move along to another deserving student on the waitlist and I lose my place in the program's incoming class.

For my fellow Jackson-ites, we all know mud season isn't the season to rake in the money so I'm currently unable to come up with that amount of extra money in this amount of time.

In addition, I'm headed out to New Haven in a few weeks to meet my advisor and visit the campus. Flights + lodging are partially covered, but not completely. The goal is set at $700 (edited to $550 to reflect gifts made outside of GoFundMe) to hopefully help with my deposit, remaining travel expenses, as well as GoFundMe's service charges.

Any amount is going to help in both endeavors. If you're unable to give, please share this with your network. I can't even explain how much both giving/sharing would mean to me.

Philámayaye, thank you!
