'Last Chance' by Shane Mullins

I am a musician, an author, song writer. I have spent my life in the entertainment industry in some fashion for almost my whole life.  I started out as a bass player for a Christian rock band called 'Frontline' back in the 80s. We went through a few lead singers and a genre shift through the 80s and early 90s eventually changing to 'Messiah Experience' becoming more of a southern rock jam band. This is where I honed my bass chops.

After we split in the mid 90s I formed a more grunge/metal band with some friends called 'HushPuppy', we recorded one album and did a few shows, but keeping a band together is much harder than people would believe. Eventually we split on pretty good terms. I was playing Some Lead, but mostly rhythm guitar and split the vocals with another person.

During the HushPuppy time my brother had formed another Christian Rock band called 'Bigtone' and he was working on really getting it off the ground. I got a call one evening, his drummer had quit and they had a show soon, he asked if I could fill in. I hadn't played drums in a band before, but I had a few chops. This ended up being a long term gig which I enjoyed, mostly because it was a chance to rock out with my brother again. He and I mix very well when it comes to what we want to accomplish musically. Did this for a few years recorded one of my favorite albums but circumstances led me to leave. Not to long after, Bigtone was in need of a bass player and my brother sought me out again. I was way more than happy to fill that void. I loved playing/writing with my brother and was always happiest on the bass.

I moved to TN after my time in Bigtone was over and took a position at the Gatlinburg Methodist Church as a Praise and worship Leader and youth pastor. It was a great time, I enjoyed my role there, but after some time, I had to head back to KY over some personal issues.

Upon returning, my brother and I got together again and formed 'Anderson Road' Very much a guitar oriented southern rock jam band, something that my brother and I know very well. We did this for a few years. I don't remember how it came about, but one day there was someone else playing bass. I believe it to be the fact that I had a quadruple bypass.

I took a spell of a few years off from playing and began focusing on writing, not music, but stories. I had always loved writing, I have written many short stories, some being published, but I always wanted to write a full on book. I used this time off of playing music and got my first novel together. It was called 'God of the Undead'. I pushed it around until I found someone to publish it. It was one of the crowning moments of my life.

I spent the next few years, filling in different positions for bands, some on praise teams for churches and so on. It was fun, as a musician, I was always up for a show or a Sunday morning.

A few years into this and I got a message from my brother, he was telling me my dad had started a church and they were trying to get a praise team together, but they were needing a drummer. He asked if I could come fill in and help get things of the ground and I was more than happy to do so. That was about 6 years ago. The church has grown, moved to a much larger building and continues to grow. I am still there playing drums and loving it. Playing by my brother's side, musically just where I always loved being. He and I have just about spent our lives playing together in some capacity or another.

I have switched focus to cd duplication and post production costs. I need to gather the funds to self publish this album. It is expensive and time consuming to these sort of things and do them right. To everyone that helps donate and fund this album, I will add your name to the list of people who helped. I will also cut those who donate special discounts on all merch that I decided to offer, as well as free digital copies for those you donate. People don't really seem to understand the recording/mixing/advertising and so on in the music industry, it's very hard and takes a while. I would really appreciate some help. I know money is hard to come by, but anything you can do to help would be more appreciated than you know..  Also, check out the link below, it's for my book God of the Undead, a post apocalyptic love story. I am also releasing another book in 2020 4q called, A Series Of Nightmares, a dark journey into peoples nightmares and what they really mean. Thanks everyone :D
