Soundwaves Xmas
is an independently-produced annual televised music-based event that supports the efforts of several Bay Area nonprofits making a difference. The show itself has collected and redistributed 30,000 donation items to local communities over the past 28 years.

WHO WE ARE:

Radio and TV personalities, producers, crew, editors, and musicians from all aspects of the entertainment landscape ... volunteering their time and talents to make a difference in people’s lives!

WHY SOUNDWAVES XMAS?

Soundwaves Xmas supports and promotes noteworthy individuals and nonprofits moving the needle to improve the lives of others, such as eliminating homelessness , identifying mental health issues , finding unique ways to connect those who have leftover food to those who are hungry, and a venerable toy program , which distributes over 200,000 toys to more than 40,000 disadvantaged children every year.

And finally, we believe in the healing power of music.

THE PROBLEM:

It costs money to put on a show of this magnitude!

While our crew has donated their time, talent, and equipment over the years, the show has grown in scope and reach. There are hard costs associated with renting gear and putting on a show, not to mention promotion, and the cost of airtime on local TV stations and streaming.



OUR SOLUTION:

We want to solve the problem permanently. We aim to create a nonprofit called The Soundwaves Project that would oversee our charitable music-based specials and webcasts throughout the year.

OUR GOALS:

IF WE CROSS...

$5,000 - We can afford to rent gear, produce and edit the 2017 edition of Soundwaves Xmas on December 2nd. 

Once we get to...

$7,500 - We can now afford to purchase the airtime on local TV stations and stream live to multiple platforms. We want the biggest audience possible to see the show! 

But that's just for one special, for one season. Once we reach...

$10,000 - We also can set up the nonprofit organization and file for 501(c)3 tax exempt status.

We'd like to own the gear we use, and have it to produce multiple fundraisers and music-based events throughout the year, so...

$20,000 - This goal allows us to also purchase camera units (as opposed to spend money continually renting them) at approximately $2,500 per package (camera, tripod, monitor, plus incidentals).

$25,000 - At this level, we can now add discrete multi-channel audio capturing to our bag of tricks, so that we may record and professionally mix down live music, without having to rent the gear. It's a music special. It's gotta sound good!

$40,000 - The big one! If we reach this threshold, we can now staff the nonprofit for the first six months of 2018, and set up corporate fundraising initiatives and events, as well as produce a summer special, which would increase the awareness of the Soundwaves charity brand, and lend support to music and youth-based charities around the Bay Area!

Every contributor will be invited to join us on the set, and attend our exclusive premiere party!
