The Sharks are a canoe club, based in West London (Southall, Hayes, Uxbridge, Harefield and Osterley), we provide all the equipment paddlers need, so that cost is never a barrier to participation.
We enable people to paddle for fun and recreation as well as to compete at whatever level the can; We have beginners and international athletes. We enable people to reach their full potential. We provide all the coaching, training and equipment.
We need to purchase some more competition slalom boats to help our youngsters on their way, we have a selection of boats but need some new high-quality competition boats for our youngsters, so they can compete with the best. We recently had two boats stolen and it has left us a bit short.
We have a number of aspiring youngsters who are taking up the sport, they work hard, and they deserve the best, and we want to deliver the best.
In the last year we have had a number of youngsters gain promotion to national ranking divisions and our success is causing us to need more boats as we get more paddlers involved.
All money raised will be used to purchase new kit, we estimate that £2,000 is the cost of a top-quality boat, a bag for storage and transportation, a set of paddles and associated kit (spray deck etc.)
We would like to buy ten new boats of varying sizes so we can accommodate our growing slalom team at all stages of their development.
