It's with a very heavy heart I post this, and I wouldn't usually ask for anything (nor would my parents) but on the off chance anyone wanted to help out (I've had lots of messages - thank you!)
Our family home where my parents lived and cared for there 5 grandchildren went up in flames yesterday. Everyone is ok, (thank god) but sadly they have lost just about everything, this had been our family home for 27 years. We were able to salvage a few things but realistically they are so smoke damaged they should probably be binned. Included in the things that perished was my little sisters wedding and bridesmais dresses, she is due to be married in March. It's the things like this that make this hard to take.
My Dad was out for his daily walk at the time of the fire and my Mum was in the hospital with my niece who has a serious medical condition, Mum is yet to see the house. Thank christ my Sister and her Fiance we're home and got everyone to safety.
Now look we are not a family that generally asks anyone for anything but with what's happened, mainly for the sake of my nieces and nephews, I thought I would make a post to see if on the off chance anyone had any clothes etc they no longer need, perhaps stuff that was headed to Goodwill? Or anything else really... To be honest I have no idea exactly what I should be seeking, this whole situation is a surreal blur.
We have a 7 year old boy, 8 year old girl, 13 & 14 year old boy and a 16 year old girl. They are normal sized kids, skinny... then there is my sister (28) her partner and my Mum (60) & Dad (65).
If anyone has anything they are willing to part with please get in touch. I'm willing to trade for big hugs, mega kudos and the acceptance of you telling the world that you helped save Christmas, its what you'll be doing.
