The Great Adventure: Project Canada

INTRODUCTION
I’m a rebel and a radical thinker, hungry for change, justice and equality.

Growing up, I had a wonderful and loving upbringing, and my family moved quite often. When I moved out of my parent’s house, I kept the tradition going. I guess I’ve always really been itching for new adventures and new beginnings. I’m now 59 and have an impressive and slightly shocking 33 moves under my belt that span from different homes in the same city to moves between countries and continents around the world. About 5 years ago a few things happened that shook my world. I became a divorcee and fell into a diagnosed Major Depression that left me without work. I had been dealing with this mental illness for 3 years when I was diagnosed with Cancer. The ultimate C word. I have been battling cancer for 2 years and my battle continues every day, but this is where this project comes in. I invite you to read below to find out about my newest and hopefully not last, great adventure. I hope that you join me in this journey!

THE GREAT ADVENTURE
Traveling across the world is a lifelong dream. One that I always thought would one day come true. One that only a few years ago I thought I would never achieve. What changed? I made a decision. I could continue to live a life of depression and medication, surrounded by four walls forever. Or I could do what I always dreamed of, and go out with a bang. Traveling alone on a motorcycle, stepping out of my comfort zone, seeing great sights and people is one experience that I truly believe can be mentally healing for me.

The Great Adventure is a big one, one that is broken out into Projects. The first one, is Project Canada. When Project Canada is complete, I will embark on other Projects that have already been planned in great detail. Project USA, Project Central America, Project South America. And so on.

Although this has been my dream, I want it to have some external purpose - a way for me to give back. I am an activist and a supporter of The Zeitgeist Movement and I wish to share the message with everyone I encounter. The message is one of Non-Violence, Peace, Compassion, Equality, Collaboration, and Empathy. One of revolution of values, and a change from within. To be the change you want to see in the world.

HOW WILL IT TAKE PLACE
It has always been my dream to travel the world on a motorcycle, and so it is only fitting that this is the method of transportation for my Great Adventure. Although I will be completing this adventure on my own, I appreciate and welcome any rider companions during any part of Project Canada.

Sleeping will take place in local camping sites along the way as well as couchsurfing and any Project Canada supporters’ goodwill. If you have a couch for me to sleep on, please contact me to arrange accommodations!

Upon arrival at each Capital City. I will interact with the public and hand out 50 business cards with information and links to where they can find out what The Zeitgeist Movement is all about.

I am so proud to live in Canada. A country rich in breathtaking sights. There are many times along my route that I will make stops at some of Canada’s most beautiful locations. I will take many pictures in such locations and share them through the Facebook Page so that you too can be a part of the journey.

WHERE AM I HEADED
Starting in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada - I will travel to every Capital City in every Province in Canada.
If there is a TZM Chapter active in a city along my route or you are an activist or supporter of the TZM movement, I would appreciate talking to you to coordinate an event!

FOLLOW ALONG
My Great Adventure will be shared on my Facebook Page! Here, I will post check ins at all the locations on the route as well as any beautiful sights I want you all to see. This Page will be your go-to location when wanting to find out more about how the Adventure is progressing and any hiccups along the way. With even the smallest of donations, you are helping me fulfill a lifelong dream and I want you to be able to be part of it no matter where in the world you or I may be.

SPREADING THE WORD
I am hoping that my story reaches many people and hopefully impacts at least one person. Someone who is either going through the same situation or has been in a similar mental place. I hope I inspire you to chase your dreams no matter how old you are or how late you think it may be. It’s only when you are faced with a terminal condition that you realize that you could have done so much more with your life. Take it from me. Take action now and follow your dreams. If you like my message or relate to it in some way, I would appreciate it if you shared this page with your family and friends.

Throughout the Great Adventure I hope to gather sponsors or media attention as I believe everyone young and old should be reminded that it is NEVER too late to be who you want to be.
