The Friends of Justin Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in memory of Justin G. DiBiase, who tragically passed away at age 27 in 2010. Justin, known to his friends as “Debo,” was a great lover of life, people, and music, and his deeply felt concern for the happiness and well being of others came to life through the smiles he brought to all those around him. Justin’s family and friends organized the Foundation as a way to come together in remembrance of a remarkable person and to raise charitable funds in Justin’s honor for causes that were important to him.
Throughout his life, few things brought Justin as much joy as playing and listening to music of most every kind (including singing and playing guitar/bass in several garage bands in high school). Accordingly, the Foundation is currently working to raise funds on behalf of Girls Rock Columbia , another Columbia-based nonprofit which help girls build self-esteem and find their voices through unique programming that combines music education and performance, empowerment and social justice workshops, positive role models, and collaboration and leadership skill building.
Donations made through this page will go directly to Girls Rock Columbia in memory of Justin. We are hoping to reach our goal of raising $5,000 by February 28, 2016, the date of the second annual high school Battle of the Bands competition the Foundation is hosting at the Music Farm in Columbia.
