We are the Denbow family and we have been fighting a battle wih chronic Pancreatitis for over 10 years. Kevin's condition stems from a birth defect called pancreas divisum causing him frequent vomiting attacks with intense pain. These "attacks" as we call them are so debilitating it renders him unable to work and provide for his 2 young children. After undegoing several surgical procedures to improve the function of his pancreas, he is still experiencing the same symptoms over and over.
Some days are better than others, and it can be weeks in between the ugly episodes that occur. However, in the past 8 months, episodes have been happening on a weekly basis. Each time it happens, it requires an ER visit with an overnight admission to the hospital. Not counting all the bills for doctors, labs and ER copays,we still have regular day to day expenses such as food, mortgage and utilities.
As a wife, I do what I can to make him comfortable when he is sick, but there is little I can do in terms of making this stop. For years I've sat by his side in countless hopital rooms helpless, hoping and praying that this storm will pass. As a mom I do what I can to provide a level of normalcy for our children and maintain a photography business.
I've never been one to ask for help. I hate even admitting that we do - but we are drowning in the weekly ER copays and lost wages. We would be infinitely grateful for any help to get us through this rough patch. All donations would go towards medical bills and living expenses during these weeks of hospitalization.
