Saving the Coop and our Roost...

For the past almost 7 years we have been the proud owners of BC’s Chicken Coop in the Village of Webster. As many of you know, Christina has been feverishly trying to hold the business together by herself for the past 15+ months as I have been very ill. I was misdiagnosed with Lymphoma twice, and while I have been feeling better the past month, the doctors have still been unable to determine the cause of my illness. With no diagnosis and no clear idea on how long I might be sick, I was not eligible to receive Disability Benefits of any kind. As a result, having no income for well over a year, has put us in a very difficult position. We have lost our home to foreclosure, and while we aren’t sure where we are going, we only have until September 12th to get there. We lost our vehicles and have sold (or are selling) most of our possessions. In addition, we fell behind on our tax payments for The Coop. As a result, we have been notified by New York State that they are shutting down The Chicken Coop, which is basically all we have left, in the very, very near future.


We have always tried to maintain the highest level of service and the highest quality product. We have taken great pride in our business as well as our community. The location we chose presented some very unique challenges, and we’d hoped a long time ago that we would be able to expand to a larger location that provided us with some of the basic necessities to keep up with our growth and help us to be more profitable. At this time the last thing we want is to close the Coop, but unfortunately, without some assistance, we just can’t come up with the funds we need to stay open, relocate or move our residence.

 
Reluctantly, we are asking for any donations you are willing or able to make. We have exhausted all other avenues in an effort to continue to operate and we sincerely appreciate your assistance. We have met some really fantastic people and it has been our pleasure to support various community funds, organizations and individual fundraisers over the years.

 
We would also like to say that we have enjoyed serving our community for the past (almost) 7 years. We genuinely hope that your support will help us reclaim our lives and keep the Chicken Coop open for years to come, so that we can continue to reside in, work for, and contribute to, this great community.  If nothing else, we hope we have left as much of a positive lasting impression on you as you have on us. It has truly been our pleasure.
