Hi there!
We’re The Cave Collective! We’re comprised of 25 Artists (and a few Associate Artists and crew members), helmed by core members John Millard, Martha Ross, Adam Paolozza, Gregory Oh, Victor Pokinko, and Tomson Highway. This June, we’re mounting an inventive, entertaining, and devastating new cabaret event that will livestream to individuals, major theatres, and Northern and underserviced communities from Coast to Coast to Coast. We need your help to get the project off its feet and into peoples’ living rooms and community centres across the country.

About the Project
Come into The Cave, an apocalyptic cabaret in response to our world’s changing environment. As a forest fire rages, animals seek refuge in a bear’s cave and tell the stories of their lives. This entertaining and incredibly relevant song-cycle by celebrated Canadian artists John Millard, Tomson Highway and Martha Ross is having its World Premier at Soulpepper’s Tank House Theatre as part of the 2019 Luminato Festival June 18 - 23, 2019 and livestreaming across the country June 22, 2019 at 2pm and 8pm.

What We Need
Livestreaming a show across the country, to individuals and communities from Coast to Coast to Coast, is an expensive ordeal! The Arts Councils and our Partners have been really good to us in mounting the Live Show, but now we’re hoping you can help us raise the last bit of our budget to bring audience members together from much farther than just Toronto. We need to raise $10 000 to pay for the webcast itself : there are editors and mixers and camera people to pay, cameras and servers and ticketing systems to rent, and a whole lot of outreach and marketing work to do to get it all up and running. We think it’s not only an interesting platform for the project, but a necessary part of the story and the art we’re sharing. We’re so excited to bring audiences together in a first-of-its-kind Canadian livestream event and we’re so grateful for any nickel, dime, Wilfred Laurier, Viola Desmond, or Robert Borden you can spare. (For those of you keeping track at home, those are $5, $10, and $100 bills.)

Your Support Will Help Us Pay For...
-our Digital Producing Team : Digital Producer, Webcast Producer, Streaming Consultant
-our Livestream Team : Live Video Director, Live Video Editor, Live Sound Mixer, Camera Operators
-ACTRA fees for 4 vocalists, 4 musicians, our musical director, composer, director and stage manager
-Equipment Rental : Live Camera Rental, Robo-Camera Rental, Hi-Def Stationary and Body Microphones and Sound Equipment
-Distribution Costs : Server Rental, Ticketing System, Marketing, and Outreach

With your help, we’ll be able to share this groundbreaking theatrical event with people far and wide and bring it to unlikely communities all across Canada. Thank you so so so much in advance, and we hope to see you at the show (or on the webcast!)
