We’re Atticus and Olivia. We’re a couple of newlyweds and a built in family of four. In an ever changing world we’ve found something that has yet to change and that’s our love to create. Everyone experiences the ups and downs of life and we want to do our part in making the ups even more beautiful and the downs even more livable. Environment is everything so we strive to create environments to help everyone celebrate, grow, and love. From a newly engaged couple to a family trying to get back on their feet; we will do our part to make every person feel special and valued. We see so much hurt in our world that pulls our hearts to a very specific group of people…women. As a single mom I have learned how hard life can be. The struggle of multiple jobs, little sleep, and growing kids could be emotionally and physically exhausting. Single moms are super heroes that are hardly every treated as such. We want to change that. Many women fall prey to abusive relationships and find themselves looking for new homes and an all-around new life. We want to help with that.
You may be saying to yourself, “How will creativity change any of that?”. I’m glad you asked. We believe that environment is key to life and success. We exist to make women feel valued, special, and empowered. We do that by partnering with local artists, organizations, and you. A portion of every event booked at The Canvas Place will go toward loving and encouraging women in need. Think surprise baby showers for young single moms to be. Pop up clothing shops for women looking for interview clothes for their potential new job. All of this is made possible by the carefully curated parties and meetings you host with us.
For all of these dreams to come true we need a blank canvas. We need a space. We’re very excited to say we’ve found a beautiful space in a community focused location. A blank space also means funds to transform it into something beautiful and functional. So this is us, asking for anyone who believes in us to stand by our side and help us create an atmosphere that will bring people together day after day.
