The Book of Nimrod
America is made up of a diverse assortment of colors, cultures, ethnicities, and customs. The Book of Nimrod reflects, not only the tumultuous lives of those who live on the edge in Philadelphia, but also their diversity.
Our story is begging to be told, and we're so proud and excited to be a vehicle in which, at least, one of these dramatic stories will be told. We believe in creating cutting-edge drama using the faces that we hardly ever see in the mainstream, yet their lives impact all of our lives, every day.
We're independent, so much of what we accomplish is purely on "the strength", which simply means, we're getting it done with no resources. We're now embarking upon our 2nd season and we'd like to have a few things in place. We've already begun shooting, but we'd like to have Craft Services (food/snacks on set), Special Effects Makeup Artist (Alfreda Howard Keck, one of the few African American women in this field who is making her presence known), and Props.
NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL! EVERY BIT HELPS!
If you don't wish to participate, please forward this invitation for support to someone who would be excited about getting involved with a project, this one.
As you all know, we're still in production for season 2 and we still need your help.
We have a new "Baby" since the character is older now, a full blown teenager and she's taking martial arts and stunt classes so that she can be prepared for what her character has to do.
These classes do cost money, even though we're being given an excellent deal. Lack of funds does affect when, where, and how we shoot.
For instance, we needed to shoot scenes in a small local market, and on a college campus, but we couldn't shoot because we had no insurance.
This type of insurance is not about in case we destroy something, it's in case we fall and hurt ourselves. No, we don't have a large crew or anything like that, but we weren't allowed to shoot there.
Insurance costs money. That's why we need you. If all of you would donate $5 per month, it would help us complete season 2. We have so many other exciting and compelling projects in the pipeline, I just can't wait to share them with you.
Those of you who have already donated to this project, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I'm still asking for your help.
If you believe in me and in what we're tying to do, donate and share this link with others who have a passion for helping filmmakers/artists of color.
Thank you again and have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
We have exciting news! Our dramatic series is moving into high gear with new cast members and new storylines.
One of our newest cast members is Naiya Brown who is now portraying a teenage Baby! She is beautiful and talented but we will need to give her special classes in stunt work and martial arts.
She will be receiving classes at Cheng's Martial Arts School in Upper Darby for close to 3 months. Each month, it will cost $135. Please help Naiya with these classes, which are absolutely necessary so that she will not get hurt on set, or hurt anyone else. This season will require alot from our actress, physically and we want to make sure she gets the best.
It will cost a total of $405. We thank you in advance for your contribution!
Peace and Blessings!
This will be our LAST season before we move to "The Saints", which will have some of the same actors from "The Book of Nimrod". Remember, "The Book of Nimrod" is a spin-off of "The Saints".
We've had some wonderful contributions, which has helped us to purchase additional equipment, update and maintain the Landmark Productions, LLC website ( www.landmarkproductions.net) and our presence on IMDB (a very important industry website).
We still need your assistance! As you can see, we originally tried to raise $50,000 several years ago, but, to date, we've raised $3,175. That translate to about $2.90 per month. That's what we've had to work with.
Amazingly, due to the dedication of the cast and crew we have been able to make it happen ANYWAY. This season, we'd like to do things a little differently, and not work with nothing. We'd like to be able to help actors with gas for their cars, tolls when they're coming from out of town, props, and maybe some snacks.
I'm asking that all of you, who are able, to donate $5 a month. We've already proved what we can do with nothing! Imagine what we can do with something! If contributing is not your cup-of-tea, please send our link to someone you know.
Episodes 1-8 are now public on youtube, so you can go and see the episodes whenever you want.
Thank you for your consideration.
