Hey friends!
As many of you know, Africa (particularly Zimbabwe) is a place that has become near & dear to my heart!! And in case you didn't know, it's where the name of my studio came from!
Last year I went back, and I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time with my camera in hand to hear about a major need in a community there, near Hwange National Park. I stood silently at Dete Old Age Home, while I saw and heard major needs of the property we were standing on. People there really rely on tourists like us to come for visits in these rural and beautiful parts of the world. But this place in particular had a need that I haven't been able to shake since i've been back! And I'm asking you to partner with me and share in making this a BOMA, (safe place) for these precious and forgotten elderly people.
This HOME has spent their time trying to be a self-sustaining property, as they are far away from civilization. They have worked hard to plant the most beautiful GARDEN for several years now, but are in the most desperate need to protect it. Amongst many other needs. So I'm asking you to co-partner with me in building a wall to protect the value of their crops.
While the wildlife is a site to see, it's a challenge to protect what they have planted once a harvest comes in. THATS WHERE YOU & I COME IN!! The beautiful wildlife there are attracted to this SWEET PLACE and their garden each year leaving very little to take them through a long and hot summer.
This wall would allow this garden to have protection from the WILDLIFE there. Just think Birmingham, if our city took a shot at building a wall for this community, what else we could do when we come together. *** OH THE POSSIBILITIES! And to be able to help a community self-sustain...what a dream!
