THE WORLD OF HAPPY “AFTER THE STORM, A GREEN TURTLE JOURNEY”
SHORT ANIMATED MOVIE
Hello, I'm Camy De Mario, children’s books author and illustrator.
My first book “The World of Happy, Let’s All be Friends” was published in 2010 during the time that I lived on a small island called Green Turtle Cay in Abaco, Bahamas.
You may have become familiar lately with this place because of the tragic Hurricane Dorian that hit and destroyed many parts of Abaco, including my beloved Green Turtle Cay.
The idea of the book came one day that I was walking the beach at Coco Bay with my youngest children.
Suddenly, something caught my attention. It was the most beautiful red starfish that I have ever seen before.
That night, HAPPY was born, along with FLOPPY the seagull, BELLA and others.
GOAL
Although writing and illustrating books for children will always be part of my life, in these past few years I have also developed a passion for animation.
I have always thought that HAPPY's stories would be great as cartoon series or animated films., so I took the time to learn about the movie industry and I wrote one short and one full length movie script.
I believe it’s no coincidence that the right opportunity had just knocked at my door.
After a research I have found an animator who is willing to develop a 3D, 12 minutes short animated film at a reasonable cost, including voice over and background music. This is just one part, the best one is that I will be able to submit it to the next 2020 Vero Beach Wine and Film Festival, in Vero Beach, Florida. What an amazing opportunity to show my work!

STORYLINE
"HAPPY and the young students are enjoying an art class when a very concerned FLOPPY warns everyone of a strong storm approaching Green Turtle Island. They all need to find a shelter and the safest place is the Pink Cave.
BELLA is also there. It's a long night but FLOPPY makes it fun by entertaining everyone with his drum.
The next day, it's clean up time, when an unexpected struggling visitor will also join the group..."
