The Werewolf- fiercely queer opera

Donation protected
After a year off following our maiden run of "La Zombiata" Valentine's Day  weekend 2016, WholeTone Opera is back! This time, with a spooky, comedic, and fiercely queer rewrite of Louise Bertin's le Loup-garou!

Originally written in the 1800s, Bertin's werewolf plot left much to be desired. A howling team of artists has brought the score back to life with new music by composer Molly Preston and a fresh and tantilizing libretto by writers Teri Kowiak and J. Deschene celebrating the Queer community through character and plot rewrites.

The "queering of the opera" as Teri puts it, has taken a year's worth of work from our volunteer all female production team and our score is ready to be sung! This Halloween (October 2017) we will run two weekends at The Rockwell Theatre in Davis Square. We need your help to make sure the army of artists that will breathe fresh life into this exciting new opera will be justly paid and that our production soars!

We hope you will consider joining us in WholeTone Opera's mission to highlight female, femme, and non-binary composers and artists, revitalizing Boston’s opera community, and offering alternative productions with fresh, gripping performances.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be invaluable to our growing opera company! Thank you for your support!
