The Tale Of The Very Bad No Good Broken Uterus

$2,835 of $15,000 goal

Raised by 37 people in 5 months
As many of you know and for those of you who don’t, I have recently been diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma. Over the course of the last year I have accumulated medical debt of $11,000. With this cancer diagnosis comes a life time of doctors visits, check ups and tests to ensure the cancer hasn’t spread and that I remain cancer free. Insurance only covers so much for these visits and only after I match my $7350 deductible each year. (Yay HMO’s! Yay for having insurance because without it my total hysterectomy wouldn’t be possible!!!) So for the rest of my life these check ups will cost me out of pocket. I need your help to eradicate this past medical debt to better prepare me for the influx of medical debt to come and get back to zero so that I may begin the next chapter of my life with a fresh start.

Your donation will provide you with my endless supply of inappropriate and sarcastic humor by yours truly. Limitless stories about how cute and adorable my doxie, Maude, is.  An abounding knowledge of useless trivia and movie quotes and lastly the warmth, caring, love and friendship for years to come.

Now, unlike the government during tax season, I will provide an itemized list of what your donation will be covering at your request. Since I have lost the ability to have children I will be donating any proceeds exceeding my goal or any donation unspent on medical costs to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to aide in childhood cancer research and treatment.

I am asking for a maximum donation of $25,000 to cover past, present and future medical costs as well as earnings lost due to cancer treatments and recovery. Again, any amount unused or exceeding my goal will be 100% donated to the children of St Jude’s.

Today I will be putting a close to my fundraiser as well as this upside down chapter in my life. I want to thank you all once a again for all of your incredible support, generosity and kindness during this difficult time. Getting cancer at 33 and loosing the ability to have children at such a young age is devastating, so to not have to worry about keeping a roof over my head and getting the bills paid on top of that means the world to me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I hope to see you all on Saturday at Black Walnut Cafe from 6-9 at Vintage Park. Come by and let me hug you, say thank you face to face and give you some cake!

Your incredible generosity has allowed me to pay of a nice chunk of these medical bills as well as kept me from going homeless and hungry throughout all of this. Please continue to share because while these bad boys are paid, I’ve got about $10,000 more to go. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support!

Additional update: I will be scheduling a consultation with a radiologist in the near future for the possibility of needing radiation therapy to ensure this evil little monster never comes back! Let’s cross our fingers the doc says it’s not needed!!

Everyone bust out their dancing shoes!!!

I got my pathology results back today! I was staged at 1B Grade 1 with no lymph node involvement and am now considered CANCER FREE!!! out of the 10mm of endometrial thickness I was at a 6.5mm. Doc said radiation would be beneficial however I’m right at the cusp that it would be my choice to have radiation or not. I’m not sure what to do there since I’m out of insurance and out of money. I have an 8% risk of regrowth for the future. My CA125 was at 13 BEFORE treatment! No need to check in anymore because it wouldn’t give them sufficient information. Doc said all the pains I’ve been feeling are completely normal at this stage of post op! All I need to do now is heal all proper!!

The surgery is done and recovery is going well! I’m in pain and terribly sore but doing well. All the surgical sites are looking great and I’m able to move and walk without too much pain or discomfort. I got myself I nice hand shiner because apparently I’m a bleeder lol. The next big step will be the two week post op appointment to find out the stage and to see if anything showed up on the lymph node biopsy. Good chances it’s all clear. The surgeon said all the surrounding tissues looked great! Thank you all for your continued support and love.
