The Takedown

Hello, My name is Jacen Zhu and I started Takedown Tina as an initiative to spread awareness about Crystal Meth use within Queer & Trans communities of color. As someone who has struggled with Crystal Meth addiction I decided to be honest about my journey with Crystal Meth, being HIV positive living undetectably, mental health and being a Black Queer cisgender man in America. The Vision Statement for The Takedown states: We envision a world bursting with self-acceptance that the appetency of exchanging ones life for substance use becomes undesirable. How can we do this by applying our Mission Statement: We work to increase awareness of crystal meth use within queer and trans communities of color. We educate, fight stigma, and take a holistic approach to reduce addiction among at-risk communities. I’ve had a lot of help with this initiative but in order to grow this initiative into a non-profit I need the support of those who have a personal experience with drug use, a family and/or friend who is losing the battle to substance use, the younger generations that has to battle with many things including drug use. The support you give today can help change our society to believe in sober fun.
