Asalamu 'alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
إنَّا لله وإنا إليه راجعون
إن الله ما أخذ وله ما أعطى وكل شئ عنده بإجل مسمى
To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. Siraaj also known as Mu'aad was among the passengers who were killed in the Ethiopian Airlines that crashed near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Sunday, March 10th, 2019. He was the eldest son of his mother's children.  He was a resident living in St. Cloud, MN USA. He is remembered for his kindness, compassion, cheerfulness and humor. He was smart, eloquent, poetic, hardworking and very enthusiastic about life. We are devastated as his family about this tragic news. We are grieving as a community and are affected by this tragic accident that took his life. Our hearts weigh heavy for ourselves, and his immediate family members. We cannot fathom what his mother and siblings must be feeling at such a tragic loss. He was as his name states- a light, a lamp in a world enveloped by darkness. He was very kind to his mother who leaned on him for support- financially and otherwise. He gave a helping hand to anyone in need of it. He was someone who was cherished and loved by all who knew him.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 for his immediate family members, and although this amount will never bring back the Siraaj everyone loves, we hope that it will at least lift the financial burdens off his family- especially his mother- for a little while.

Myself (Siraaj's immediate cousin) , and a group of young people are fundraising for Siraaj's family because we see it as a duty to aid and uplift those affected by this tragedy who were close to his heart.
Please donate what you can! No amount is ever too small. Allah is merciful to those on Earth who are merciful to others.

The Prophet peace be upon Him says, ""‏

"If you show mercy to those who are on the earth, He Who is in the heaven will show mercy to you."

May Allah grant our brother jannah (paradise) in the highest of ranks and may He unite us all with him in paradise when our time arrives. Our hearts will hurt, and our eyes will shed tears, but we only say what pleases Allah, "to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return."
