The Rodney Dunham Relief Fund

At the start of the New Year Rodney Dunham was involved in a freak accident while snowmobiling with his family. He sustained neck and spinal injuries and underwent surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado to repair the spinal damage and relieve pressure and swelling. Rodney is showing positive signs of recovery but he has a long road ahead of rehabilitation. The doctors at St. Mary’s requested to transfer Rodney to the Rehabilitation program at Craig Hospital in Denver to provide him with the best care during the recovery. They expect he will be in the hospital undergoing rehab therapy for multiple months.


Rodney is a respected member and leader in the Meeker, Colorado outfitting and ranching community. He was born and raised in Meeker and shares his passion for the outdoors with people from across the country as a hunting, fishing and horseback guide. For the last 18 years he has guided elk hunts and fishing trips with Sable Mountain Outfitters. In addition to outfitting, Rodney is an active cattleman and was elected president of the Rio Blanco County Stock Grower’s Association in 2016. He has always supported the ranching community and served as the vice president for Friends of FFA for multiple years. His commitment has including helping to chaperone the national meat-judging trip for the local FFA chapter.  Rodney consistently supports his community and family. He is the proud father of two children who currently attend college in Nebraska and Texas.   

All funds raised through this Go Fund Me campaign will go directly to the Dunham family to help cover medical costs and family travel expenses so they can be at his side during recovery and rehab. The community has also established the Rodney Dunham Relief Fund at Mountain Valley Bank in Meeker for local donations.
