The Phoenix and The Butterfly will be a huge, powerful art piece bringing people together to connect, play and experience awe.

It is the brainchild of Swig Miller and Andrea Brook who see the phoenix as a symbol of masculine metamorphosis, the butterfly as an embodiment of feminine metamorphosis.

The intention the two together is to add to the the evolution of the human story. At this moment in history our society is at a crossroads. We are redefining how we see and treat each other as women and men, we are deciding if we will move towards more inclusion or exclusion. It is a special time in which we get to create the foundation for our future. We get to set the stage for how our children, and our children's children will experience the world.

The Phoenix and The Butterfly is being born through teamwork, inclusion, cooperation, and love. It is our hope that when it's released to the world these attributes will take root and spread.

You can add to this movement by donating now. Any amount will be accepted with gratitude and an understanding that you share a vision for creating a bright future.

Your donations will be used to buy steel to create the first pyramid, copper for the Phoenix, and lighting for the Butterfly as well as the beginnings of a transportation fund for getting the whole project to Burning Man.

Hello all and happy Mother's day! I am about to head out to the build site, but I just wanted to share a couple of photos with you. We are working hard to get the Phoenix and the Butterfly ready for the Colorado Regional Burn in early June. I've very happy with how things are working out. A special thanks to Denize for painting our wings and Seth for always being there.

Hello all you wonderful art fans!!!!

Thanks again for your help in making this piece come to life, none of this would be possible without you.

I just got home from a 13 hour day working on the piece so it might not be the best time to write, but I was thinking about how lucky I am to have this opportunity and I want to reach out and say thank you as well as tell you a little of what's going on.

As you can see in the photo we are nearly done with the first pyramid and it's pretty massive. Without fail when people see it for the first time they say, 'how are you going to move that?' To that I answer, ' With a very big truck.' Which I am happy to say we were able to purchase this week (thank you Seth!).

Right now I'd say we are pretty much on schedule, it'll be a little tough tearing down the first pyramid to make room for the second, for when we tear it down it'll look like we haven't done anything. But that's the way it goes.

Also looking forward to having the wings of the butterfly fire painted next weekend by our friend Deniz Nicole.

Guess that's about it for now, I'll try to be better about giving you all updates in the future!
