This is a fundraising page for Lauren Douglas.
PLEASE READ IN FULL

Lauren is my aunties best friends daughter so there is a close connection here.
Lauren Douglas, of Old Colwyn, north wales, was complaining of feeling bloated after meals and had chest pains and palpitations weeks before her diagnosis.
Studying at Llandrillo College Rhyl public services lauren was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital on November 9 with suspected jaundice after coming home with yellow eyes.
Lauren underwent X-rays and was taken to Alder Hey children’s hospital in Liverpool for a biopsy which was when they found a tumour, known as Ewing Sarcoma, on her pancreas.
Lauren was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on the 17th November 2016 at the age of 16. Lauren then went on to have chemotherapy and an operation to remove some of her pancreas and spleen. March 2017 she rang the bell at the hospital as a sign of beating the cancer. At this point she had already begun to have problems with her tendons in her leg, which never got better . After months of back and fourth to the hospital they discovered cancer in her leg.
On the 21st August 2018 I had the pleasure of doing Lauren’s nails. Lauren always had her nails done and her family couldn’t think of a better treat for her to have  myself (Kirsty Meakin) do them for her. Lauren was really happy with her nails but not as happy as I was to do them for her.

The pain and suffering Lauren’s family have been going through is unimaginable . I feel blessed to of met such a strong and beautiful girl. Lauren you are truly, an amazing soul ,funny and a stunning girl . Your strength is inspirational.
Lauren and mum Paula also enjoyed horse riding their horses bobby and poppy.

It breaks my heart to say that Lauren sadly lost her battle to cancer on  Wednesday 29/8/2018 at the young age of 18.

Please ask yourself if you could even begin to imagine what it would be like to loose your own daughter. It hurts just thinking about it doesn’t it.
My famly has lost so many to cancer and I feel that we need to help Lauren’s family by raising funds to help create a memorable for her and give her the send off she truly deserves .

All funds that are left over from the funeral will be donated to the family hub at Alder hay children’s hospital in Liverpool , the hub is a lovely place to go where family’s and patients can watch a film, play on the Xbox ,have a game of pool or even just have a brew on the cosy sofa. Having been in the hub myself i see it’s a huge benefit to those that use it. It bring normality to the hospital and we ain’t to help it’s continued use and upkeep.

Thanks for taking the time to read this ,it means so much to us all.
Please donate to help this cause.
laurens family and I really appreciate it.
