On Friday, October 7th, tragedy struck an East Islip family who have long standing roots in this community. Glenn and Jeanne Summa-Becvar tragically lost their 23 year old daughter Kerri, in a horrific accident on Carleton Avenue. While police are still sorting out the details, it appears that Kerri may have suffered a medical emergency, causing her vehicle to veer off the road and strike a building. This accident occurred within close proximity to their home, making it even more painful and devastating.
While the family has been surrounded by friends and family members, who share their unimaginable grief, and search for words of consolation that just don't exist, Glenn, Jeanne and their oldest daughter Heather, made the decision that Kerri's life should be celebrated. Kerri would not have wanted it any other way. Kerri was loved and adored by many here on Long Island, and where she was happiest...among her Disney family, friends and cast of characters. Kerri would have insisted on a gathering of family and friends, where there would be joy and laughter, and memories shared. What better way to celebrate her life...as she would have wanted it.
