Jim Greer designed and built the solar boat "RA" with the dream of navigating the great loop under 100% solar power.
Pirates of the sun is our website and how we keep track of our progress.
The "RA" was built and launched in Florida in 2012, it made its way up the east coast to New York and continued up the Hudson to the Erie Canal and Oswego canal. We crossed Lake Ontario to Canada, entered the Trent Severn canal, and made it to Bob Caygun, Ontario.
Due to medical conditions we had to turn around.
We are now continuing the trip and are currently in Oswego waiting for the weather to cross the lake.
