Paul's Funeral

This is an appeal for help save Paul Humphrey from a life in hospital and the four bare walls of his white hospital room and to buy an adapted home for Paul Humphrey and his family.
Paul  is 37 is currently stuck dying of Cancer in Princess Diana of Wales Hospital as he is bedridden with terminal cancer. He cannot return home as the property is unsuitable and too small to accommodate him and his medical bed and equipment. The only way to get him in the property is down a narrow hallway which if you have ever tried to get furniture in the house you would know the problem associated with it let alone a person who is on stretcher. The only other way is by removing the front window and brickwork and a radiator.  This would have to be done every time he needs to leave the house. If he was mobile he could walk into the house and there wouldn't be a problem. But the cancer has taken his mobility and is bedridden. He is in constant pain despite being on pain killers and even laughing gives him chronic pain let alone moving.

His mum Linda is also disabled and has mobility problems and recently had two toes amputated and struggles to walk especially with stairs.  Our current house has no toilet or washing facilities downstairs and has limited disabled facities.  If Linda wants a shower or to goes to bed she has to struggle pulling herself up steep stairs. During the day she has to use a commode in the back room with nothing to hide her modesty and embarrassment. Hardly fair on a woman in a house of men even if they are related.

We can only spend a few hours a day visiting Paul and spending a fortune traveling to and from the hospital and car parking everyday.
Paul has been in hospital over 31 weeks with no end in sight as to when he can come home. He is only receiving paletive care and does NOT need to be in hospital. He is effectively homeless and bed blocking. Would you like your relative in this situation or even yourself?
Paul and Linda gave to others when they was working as carers and now asking for others to give back something to them.
We don't know how long Paul has got and don't want him dying in hospital alone and want him home with his family and friends before it's too late.
We are on the waiting list with a housing association but there is not many bungalows to rent and it could a long while before one becomes available to rent, but there are a few to buy. But we would never be able to get a mortgage to buy a home so making this appeal to buy a suitable home that we can get Paul out of hospital and into a family home with the family that love him.
If we can't raise enough money to buy a suitable home then the money donated will goto helping give Paul the funeral he deserves.
