The good thing is that everyone made it out okay. The bad thing is that that entire family is out of a home and buisness. I'm starting this to let everyone in the community, such as myself, help out the family. This family has done so much for myself and the surrounding community. There is so much love surrounding The Harvester.
My name is Kristie McClung and I have worked for the family for just about a year. I love this family more then anything. I hope ing this helps then a little.
As I'm sure they do have insurance to cover the building and maybe even some of the belongings, it's not going to cover everything. This family has spent so so so many years in this home. I can't begin to imagine. Thank you.
As everyone is aware The Harvester caught on fire this morning and is a total loss. The Smith's are all safe (including tenant)and are extremely grateful to all the firefighters and multiple fire departments that responded. The area at this time is still limited road access as departments still on scene working. Everyone has been asking about where they can donate. We will have a drop off of clothing up at the Climax Scotts American Legion at 6101 S. 44th St. We will also be taking monetary donations to assist the family. We need some basics to get them through the next few days.
The family clothing sizes are as follows:
Mom- Shoes size 10-11, Womens Shirt XL, Pants 10-12
Dad- Shoes size 12, Shirt Mens XL, Mens Pants 36
Daughter- Shoe Size 10-12, Womens Shirt Size M, Pants 5-6, Athletic Pants Size Large
Daughter- Girls Shoe Size 4, Shirts Size Small, Pants Girls 14-16
Dog- Dish Bowls, Leash, Toys, Treats
Hi all! We have received an abundance of clothing donations in the last 24 hrs and at the Legion and everyone is so appreciative beyond words! We are stopping clothing donations for a few days. We think we have covered all the basic needs for a few days and will be delivering another batch tomorrow. They have very limited space at thr hotel for the Smith's and the tennant Cathy and we waiting to hear next steps as to where they both will go after being at the hotels this week. Monetary donations are great because there are tons of other things that were lost and needed for daily living for the Smith's and Cathy and pets. Thank you to everyone who is going to donate and those who have already donated too! This means the world to them. Will keep everyone posted as we learn more ;)
I'm not sure what the legion hours are, but I am trying to find out. I'm sorry
Is the Legion open today for donations?
