The Good Kids Project

Donation protected
One out of six American women are victims of sexual violence in their lifetime. One out of six. Since 1998, over 17 million American women have been victims of attempted or completed rape. Sexual assault is an issue of the utmost importance, and advocating the prevention and awareness of it is our goal. The Good Kids Project was founded by Luke Sulsenti and Zach Holzman, two senior students at Toms River High School North. With the help of their Thespian Troupe director Carolyn Little, the groundwork was set to spread their message; Break the silence. Luke Sulsenti directed a production of the play Good Kids by Naomi Iizuka, performed at New Jersey Thespian Festival. The play is centered around the sexual assault of a girl who drank too much at a high school party and went home with kids from the school football team. The story is told from multiple sides that come to light as evidence of the event appears on social media and people start to form their own opinions, highlighting the permanence of social media and the scars that things like this leave on people´s lives. Throughout the production of this show, the students were moved deeply by the message Good Kids had to offer. It was clear that this message had to be taken to the next level, and thus, The Good Kids Project was formed.
Currently, we have performances of Good Kids booked at Union City Performing Arts Center March 30th at 8pm, and March 31st at 2pm, 4pm, and 7pm! Following that, we will be performing at our very own Toms River High School North on April 12th at 7pm. In order for our company to spread awareness for sexual assault by performing Good Kids throughout the state we need your help funding costs for maintaining the rights of the show, transportation costs to and from Union City for ourselves and for our set, new costumes, props, and set pieces. In addition to supporting our goal of spreading awareness for sexual assault through art and performance, we will also be donating part of our proceeds to the Saint Francis Community Center in Long Beach Township, NJ as they provide several helpful programs for victims of sexual abuse and assault Thank you for any and all donations and please be sure to come out and see one of our performances at the locations listed above.
