The Dream Scholarship

The Dream Scholarship (DS) helps Panamanian college students from underserved backgrounds reach their dream of getting a well-rounded English education in the United States.  These "Dream Scholars" spend two months at Murray State University in Kentucky to take English classes, learn about Martin Luther King and community service, and contribute to US-Panamanian cross-cultural understanding. The DS is supported by the United States embassy of Panama, the Fulbright Alumni Association in Panama, and the University of Panama. Named after Dr. Martin Luther King’s momentous speech, the program instills in students the value of service, and alumni use the knowledge they gain in the U.S. to serve their local communities in Panama.
