Welcome to the GoFundMe Campaign initiated to raise funds for Wilfred "Wilf" and Ardella Desmond of Lincolnville, Nova Scotia. On Thursday evening of October 25, 2018, the Desmond family home was consumed and destroyed by a tragic fire leaving this family traumatized, devastated, homeless and in need of whatever assistance and donations you can possibly offer. By God's grace, all family members were able to exit the home physically uninjured. All are safe, however very traumatized.
Our prayers, thoughts and concerns go out to the entire Desmond family.
This family has had more than their share of tragedy, loss and heartache and our hearts are with them. I'm certain everyone reading this from near and afar share my sentiments. We will come together to help this family in their time of need.
The reason I initiated this campaign to raise donations on behalf of this family, was due to an immediate need to obtain help for them sooner rather than later. This campaign is a worldwide effort to bring relief to a family in need. We’re stronger together!
Unfortunately the Desmond's have lost everything in this fire to smoke & water damage, and were UNINSURED! Our hearts are aching for their loss.
They NEED HELP! The efforts of this campaign will help to rebuild their lives by providing them with the means to obtain immediate essentials and a new home.
Please bring items you wish to donate to "The Desmond Fire Fund" in care of The Lincolnville Community Center. You can also deliver donations directly to the family temporarily residing at # 115 Lincolnville Loop, Guysborough County, NS B0H1W0.
Blankets, sheets, toiletries, clothing, food, home goods/furnishings, and any items you can spare is needed and deeply appreciated.

Proceeds will be collected and accounted for by fundraiser,
Sonja Crawford. Funds will be disbursed to Ardella Desmond by certified cashier's check when the campaign reaches its goal or is deactivated.
My name is Sonja Crawford. I'm an advocate, humanitarian, entrepreneur, and concerned citizen with a credible history of community service and human resource development. As a long-standing community member, I wanted to do something to help bring some relief and assistance to individuals experiencing hardship, tragedy and disaster. During times of need, it's important and comforting to feel supported and lifted up by all.
