The Danny Foster Fund

My son, Daniel Foster , disappeared on the morning of February 8, 2017 in the Barrio Logan area of San Diego. Danny was supposed to meet a friend, who was going to take him to a doctor's appointment, but he never showed up. His friends and family have not heard from him since. Danny is not someone to simply stop talking to people, so his absence is alarming.

I have been actively searching for my son. In early March, I traveled from New Hampshire to California, and within the space of ten days, put more than 4,000 miles on a rental car, chasing leads that took me to every corner of the state.

I had to return to New Hampshire without the answers I was hoping for, and with a full pocket of leads I cannot chase from so far away. I have exhausted my vacation time at work, and have taking a sizeable bite out of my credit cards. Yet I still don't know where my son is.

I am establishing this fund in hopes that those who donate will support my return to California to find my kid. It's possible Dan doesn't want to be found, and I respect that, and as soon as I find him I will be sure to tell him that he's free to come and go as he pleases. It's also possible that my son is dead, and if that's the case, these funds will be used to address the costs that will arise as a result. My worst fear is that Danny is hurt, or sick, or being held against his will. That's why I have this restlessness inside me that refuses to let go of searching.

The San Diego Sheriff's Homicide Division is currently investing this case, and I trust them to do a good job, but they don't have a lot of time to dedicate to one missing person.

I have to find him. I have to do this. But I can't do it alone.
