As LCTC heads into it's present season, we are needing to add funds to our bank account in order to ensure our incredible performers their paychecks.

Your donation will provide the funds necessary to honor the hard and dedicated work of LCTC's highly skilled and exceptionally talented artists.

As a dance company, LCTC has been strongly representing dance-theater in New England for 15 years. Lorraine Chapman's work most recently described by an audience member - "Never disappoints. Always spectacular and a great example of where dance is now. The company members are full of character, and as riveting as performers as they are gorgeous dancers".

Some of our projects have budgeted dancers fees and others do not. For example a Boston shelter for poor and homeless women that provides them and their children a safe and nurturing enviroment, has asked LCTC to perform for their residents but we simply cannot afford to do this without financial support. Your donation will help us share our work there as well as other places such as schools and nursing homes, and inspire young minds and fill older hearts with beauty and hope.

LCTC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax deductible.

Please do not hesitate to donate today.

LCTC is my dance company. We make, teach, advocate for and perform dance on a regular basis in and throughout New England. A couple of years ago we were represented by Pentacle The Gallery and were presented by them several times in NYC. My work is a blend of dance and theater. I'm particularly fond of the physical theater work of Jerzy Grotowski and my favorite choreographer is Pina Bausch. I use some of Grotowski's exercises when I want to delve deeper into movement material, and I one day hope to make a dance that is at least somewhere near as prolific and meaningful as Pina's / catch a distant ripple of the brilliant raindrop in her vast ocean of work. I'm not sure what I'm known for. I'm known for different things with different people I suppose. I think I can be confusing because I'm equally versed in Ballet and Contemporary. The ballet world might find me too modern, and the modern world might find me too balletic. I live somewhere in-between. It makes sense because I'm an extremist. I live between many extremes, but especially lately am working on balance and harmony. I am most proud of all of my LCTC dancers and performers past and present. I am in complete awe of the talent that becomes attracted to my work and beyond honored to work with them in the studio and onstage. I am truly blessed in that way. And what sets me apart I'm not sure of either. Maybe it's that I really do have a personal choreographic style and sensibility all of my own? - it may not be what's hip, cool, and now, but it's mine. Jean Grandmaitre, Artistic Director of Alberta Ballet once said, "Her ideas are highly original, relevant and always fascinating. Her vernacular is witty and engaging and her relationship with other artists has proven to be extremely fruitful and innovative. I believe Ms. Chapman’s work to be highly original and her artistic signature to be so personal that it cannot be compared to any other dance creator. I can see moments of humor in a style of satire that only she possesses, like Woody Allen or Mats Ek." Right now, made possible by a NEST Grant from NEFA, I am working with Amanda Whitworth at PSU and Frumie Selchen at the AANH on developing an LCTC outreach program titled "Arms Around Memories". The program is being tailored to suit pubic schools, dance programs, retirement communities, and even corporate offices. We are launching the program on 4/8/18 at the Jeanne Limmer Dance Center. That’s it / signing off for now! Lorraine
