Both the Roughs Golf Club and Bush League Open will square off in a 3 Round Ryder Cup Style Tournament. Each point awarded on the weekend will equate to a dollar amount for each team’s charity. The Bush League Open will be playing for “The Men of LaSalle Scholarship” and Roughs Golf Club will be playing for “City Year Philadelphia”. By donating to this campaign you will be helping two great causes.
The Bush League Open will be playing for "The Men of LaSalle Scholarship". The Men of La Salle is comprised of all fathers and guardians of students at La Salle College High School. For over 70 years, the primary mission of the organization is to provide tuition assistance for students who have lost a parent. The Men of La Salle Endowment Fund assures that no student of La Salle College High School will have his education interrupted due to the death of a primary wage-earning parent.
The Roughs Golf Club will be playing for "City Year Philadelphia". City Year recruits a diverse group of young adults to serve as AmeriCorps members in schools all day, every day—Student Success Coaches who work as tutors, mentors and role models. In partnership with teachers, City Year AmeriCorps members provide individualized academic and social-emotional support to students who need them most, serve as essential resources in the classroom and contribute to a positive school culture, climate and community. City Year helps to close gaps in high-need schools by providing students with personalized support and additional developmental relationships while also providing schools with increased capacity to implement research-based reforms. Research shows that preventing one or more of these warning signs (low attendance, poor behavior or course failure in English language arts or mathematics) makes it three times more likely that a student will graduate, dramatically improving their lifetime trajectory.
